Update From Northwood Dental
All of us at Northwood Dental wish everyone the best of health and safety in these challenging times.
As part of the Governor's mandate and the recent Pinellas County 'safer at home' initiative, our current hours of operation have been adjusted and many of you may have already been contacted to postpone your dental services.
Other patient services are still being provided in an altered schedule designed for the safety of you, our patients, and for the safety of our Northwood Dental personnel.
We remain ready to care for your dental concerns and are making attempts to send out personalized communications regarding all present and future appointments.
If you need to speak with us in the meantime, please call/text 727-797-5161 (it is vital you leave a voicemail if we are unable to take the call) or send an email to: OfficeManager@northwood-dental.com. Our patients are our top priority and we are doing our best to respond ASAP.
We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Free Cosmetic Dental Consultation
Wondering how you’d look with a straighter, brighter smile? Our dentists will give you a free cosmetic consultation to evaluate your smile and use cosmetic imaging software to manipulate your teeth and show how would look after different procedures. Sometimes we can give you a “trial smile” by putting tooth-colored material on your teeth to show you what your smile makeover will look like
The first step in any cosmetic procedure is to do a full examination of your mouth and walk you through the different options for an enviable smile. Many cosmetic procedures can be done without cutting and with minimal preparation. They are often more affordable than you might think and make a tremendous difference to your smile.
What to Expect
Our team has extensive experience in cosmetic procedures that create a bright, natural and beautiful smile for you. When you come in for your free consultation, we will examine your teeth to see which cosmetic option will work best for your mouth and face, keeping your budget in mind.
Call 727-797-5161 to speak with our friendly receptionist who will schedule your first appointment and answer any questions you might have.
What Can Cosmetic Dentistry Fix?
You might be wondering how cosmetic dentistry can fix your smile. There are a number of problems that can be solved, including:
- Stained or discolored teeth are whitened with bleaching or porcelain veneers
- Chips or rough spots
- Cavities or silver (metal) fillings
- Uneven teeth
- Gaps between the teeth
- Broken-down teeth
- Crooked teeth, typically by Invisalign®
Virtually any aesthetic issue you have with your teeth can be resolved through cosmetic dentistry. Below, you’ll find further explanations of each procedure. In the end, our dentists may recommend one or a combination of these options to give you a picture-perfect smile.
Porcelain veneers are used to change the color, shape, size or length of teeth (see the Before and After here). They are custom-made shells made of porcelain that are bonded to the front of the teeth. They offer strength and resilience similar to that of your natural tooth. Veneers offer you a Hollywood smile, perfectly mimicking actual teeth. If you’d like to know how your smile would improve with veneers, visit us for a consultation.
Dental crowns are customized tooth-shaped caps which are most often used to restore the appearance and health of a tooth (see the Before and After here). If crowns are the best option for you, you will usually require two visits to the dentist. Depending on your budget, they can be made from a number of materials including stainless steel, all metal, porcelain-fused-to-metal, all resin, or all ceramic.
This process involves the application of a tooth-colored resin to the tooth/teeth using adhesives and a high-intensity curing light. The best part about teeth bonding is that it takes little to no preparation time. Our dentist simply chooses a composite resin color that will match the color of your existing teeth.
Professional Teeth Whitening
Professional tooth whitening offers faster results and is the safest form of whitening. Take-home whitening kits can result in tooth sensitivity, whereas advancements in-office whitening technology can reduce this risk (see the Results here). For brighter, whiter teeth, contact us today.
Invisalign is one of the most popular ways to straighten teeth, especially compared to braces (see the Before and After here). They’re clear and you don’t have to worry about gum or mouth irritation. For more information about Invisalign, click here.
